                                                        OUR HISTORY

Established as a women’s Bible Study in a hair salon in 1995, Sisters Made of Clay, Inc.is one whose structure is based on small, home-based "gatherings" which carry on the ministry of the church in a small, intimate setting. We emphasize the Scriptural teaching that each member has spiritual gifts which are vital to church health, that Christian growth occurs best in the context of a face-to-face relationship, that the church is people, not programs.
This ministry is not oriented toward a building or a single leader; we are de-centralized, and for this reason we expect to grow at phenomenal rates. Over and over new leaders are constantly being developed with the realization and call on the life of the attendees and participants. SMOC has been and is therefore successful because we have begun from scratch with our philosophy clearly spelled out in advance.
The church is the people of God, gathered together by the Holy Spirit for worship, fellowship, instruction, and ministry. In the New Testament needs were met in the context of an intimate family-like group of people who were connected to other such groups. If the church is to be truly revitalized in our day, it must return to this simple bit of Bible wisdom: the church is people, and people, not programs, meet needs.
We also fellowship outside of our homes by traveling together for weekend times of refreshing. We gather at local bed & breakfasts for the pupose of over night stays so that we are able to have extended group session times of ministry. This allows us to bond and get to know one another "beyond the pews", this is true 'body' ministry. Join us in January, May, or September, for an unforgettable time of impartation.

“I choose willingly and constantly to humble myself to the vision, cause and mission of SMOC Inc. I am excited to explore each new possibility of being involved in someone else’s development. It is my passion to compel more souls to examine their personal growth and spiritual development, as well as, it is my passion to see those who are nonbelievers come into the knowledge of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and accept Him as the Lord of their life.
A network of fellowship & support is essential. This is what will help us all to be accountable for our spiritual growth and personal development while utilizing this audience of support as our platform to facilitate unity and authenticity. This is the essence of SMOC Weekend Gatherings. We believe that once you identify where you are you can “work out” your salvation, so that the fullness of God may rest upon your life as you daily present yourself as a genuine “vessel of honor.” For truly, the “Potter Wants to Put You Back Together Again!” Come and Join us for the next Potter’s Wheel Experience.
